WITH ‘YOU SIT THERE, I’LL STAND HERE’ AHEAD OF BBC RADIO 4 STAND-UP SERIES

Comedy favourite Pierre Novellie has revealed his biggest UK and Ireland tour yet, fresh from storming the Edinburgh Fringe and bagging his very first BBC Radio 4 series. Here are five things you need to know about the announcement that’s got comedy fans buzzing.

1. His Biggest Tour Yet

Pierre will hit the road in 2026 with You Sit There, I’ll Stand Here, beginning with a huge 12-night run at London’s Soho Theatre from 19–31 January. After that, he’ll be touring everywhere from Brighton and Dublin to Glasgow, Cardiff and Newcastle – with dates running through to May 2026.

2. A Fringe Favourite

This new show is no stranger to success. At the Edinburgh Festival Fringe 2025, Pierre’s run sold out and earned him a spot on the Best Reviewed Shows of the Fringe list – for the fourth year in a row. Critics called it everything from “packed full of belly laughs” (Metro ★★★★★) to “ferociously intelligent” (Beyond the Joke ★★★★).

3. A BBC Radio 4 Debut

Alongside the tour, Pierre has landed a brand-new BBC Radio 4 series titled Why In the Name of Pierre Novellie. The four-part run will showcase his unique take on comedy essays, blending razor-sharp writing with the same observational wit that has wowed live audiences.

4. Comedy with “Dad Energy” (Minus the Dad Bit)

Pierre’s latest hour covers everything from discovering his so-called ‘dad energy’ without actually being a dad, to challenging an Australian hotel in a housekeeping stand-off, and even attempting to move house across London in a single afternoon. One story apparently involves beef – and you’ll need to see the show to find out why.

5. Tickets Go on Sale Soon

Fans eager to grab seats can sign up via pierrenovellie.com for pre-sale access on Thursday 2nd October. General sale opens Friday 3rd October – and given his track record of sell-outs, tickets won’t hang around for long.

What the Reviewers Say

  • “packed full of belly laughs… impressively well written, perfectly building and building” ★★★★★ – Metro
