5 Things to Know About The Fit Prince at Edinburgh Fringe 2025 (30 July – 25 August)

There’s a new holiday romcom ready to steal the spotlight at this year’s Edinburgh Fringe. The Fit Prince (who gets switched on the square in the frosty castle the night before Christmas) is the latest outrageous comedy from Awkward Productions, running from 30 July to 25 August 2025 at Pleasance Beyond before heading to London’s King’s Head Theatre this winter.

Here are five reasons you’ll want this gloriously camp show on your Fringe list:

1. Tove Lo Makes Her Theatrical Debut

Grammy-nominated pop star Tove Lo (“Habits,” “Cool Girl,” “2 Die 4”) is stepping into the theatre world for the first time — digitally, at least. She’ll appear via video as the Prime Minister of Swedonia in what promises to be a brilliantly bizarre cameo.

“I’m The Prime Minister of Swedonia, bitch,” says Tove. Iconic.

2. A Star-Studded Digital Cast Joins the Chaos

While the main action happens live on stage, The Fit Prince features an impressive lineup of video cameos from some of TV’s most recognisable faces:

  • Sebastian Croft (Heartstopper) as Prince Balthazar of Bashington
  • Malte Gårdinger (Young Royals) as Prince Carsten of Markden
  • Joshua Whitehouse (The Knight Before Christmas, Poldark) as Simon
  • Jeremy McClain (Pose) as Prince Laurie of New York City

These digital guests add a hefty dose of sparkle, chaos, and pure camp to the show.

3. A Real-Life Couple Takes Centre Stage — And Ties the Knot!

At the heart of the show are real-life couple Linus Karp and Joseph Martin. Not only are they playing romantic leads opposite each other for the first time, but they’re also planning to get married live at the Edinburgh Festival. Talk about theatre blending into real life!

4. From the Creators of Fringe Favourites

Awkward Productions are the team behind cult hits like Gwyneth Goes Skiing and Diana: The Untold and Untrue Story. Expect their signature blend of sharp humour, queer storytelling, and joyful absurdity.

5. A Pop-Perfect Soundtrack by Leland

The show features original music by Leland, known for working with stars like Troye Sivan, Kylie Minogue, and for penning hits on RuPaul’s Drag Race. It’s safe to say the soundtrack will be every bit as fabulous as the plot.

If you’re heading to the Fringe, don’t miss this chaotic, campy romp through the kingdom of Swedonia.
