5 things about Christmas Afternoon Tea at Pennyhill Park, Berkshire

Pennyhill Park is transformed into a festive wonderland at Christmas with crackling fires, dazzling entertainment and the smells of the season floating in the air. Pastry Chef Sarah Frankland has created a festive take on the traditional afternoon tea, which is served in The Hillfield Bar.

The menu starts with savouries including Roast turkey, sage and onion stuffing on rye & caraway bread; Pork and apple sausage roll and apple puree; and Hot smoked Chalk stream trout, dill crème fraiche and pickled cucumber.

These are followed by a Snowball cocktail paired with Advocaat parfait and lemonade granita and plain and spiced fruited scones with mulled wine conserve and Surrey Hills cream.

Homemade mince pies with spiced almond sponge and brandy buttercream; Eggnog mousse, with spiced plum compote and spiced whole wheat biscuit; and Roulade with chocolate ganache, chestnut cream, chocolate genoise and candied chestnut form just some of the sweet treats on offer to conclude Pennyhill Park’s festive offering.
