London Food & Drink | Opening 25 November 2026
The City is getting a new place to watch the game. London’s largest independent pub group, Urban Pubs & Bars, is opening Bat & Ball City in Tower Hill. Here are five things to know.
1. In the former BrewDog Tower Hill
The pub takes over BrewDog’s first UK brewpub, opened in 2018, inside a distinctive neo-Gothic building. It’s getting a £1 million transformation.
2. Sport, food and entertainment
Bat & Ball is an experience-led brand, bringing together live sport, food, drink and entertainment under one roof. It’s the third site after Stratford and Covent Garden.
3. A more premium look
It’s the first venue to show off a refreshed look and feel for the brand, with a more premium pub atmosphere.
4. Built for Christmas parties
Spread over 8,500 sq ft, the venue is designed for everything from after-work drinks and small groups to large corporate events, and it opens just in time for the Christmas party season.
5. From a London independent
Founded in 2014, Urban Pubs & Bars now runs more than 70 venues across London, each designed to celebrate individuality and a strong sense of place.
