London Theatre | Until 15 November 2026
A play where the actor rides a bike for the entire show? CADEL: Lungs On Legs opens tonight at Riverside Studios, celebrating its 100th performance. Here are five reasons to go.
1. The first Australian to win the Tour de France
The show tells the extraordinary true story of cycling champion Cadel Evans, including the sacrifices, setbacks and sheer determination behind his 2011 victory.
2. Pedalling live throughout
Creator and performer Connor Delves pedals throughout the performance on a 2011 yellow BMC SLR01, the same model Evans rode to victory. It’s a remarkable physical feat.
3. A cycling family story
Delves grew up in a cycling family, and his father raced internationally alongside Evans in the 1990s. Evans himself has backed the show, praising Delves’ dedication.
4. Commentary from Phil Liggett
Race commentary from the legendary voice of cycling, Phil Liggett, plus immersive design and video, captures the suspense of elite racing. It’s a must for cycling fans.
5. Award-winning
The show won Theatre Weekly’s Best Show of the Fringe in Edinburgh and Best of Theatre Weekly at Adelaide Fringe, plus an EFFTA Award and an OFFIE nomination. At 70 minutes, it’s a quick, thrilling ride.
