London Talks | Monday 19 October 2026
Just weeks before the US midterm elections, Mary Trump comes to the 5×15 stage at Conway Hall to talk about the making of Donald Trump. Here are five things to know.
1. A unique inside view
Mary Trump is Donald Trump’s niece and a clinical psychologist, so she knew him long before the presidency and brings professional insight to how the family shaped him.
2. The author of a global bestseller
Her book Too Much and Never Enough: How My Family Created the World’s Most Dangerous Man combined personal experience with psychological training to offer an extraordinary account of the Trump family.
3. In conversation with John Crace
She’ll be interviewed by John Crace, the Guardian’s sharp and very funny political sketch writer, so expect insight with a dose of wit.
4. Power, loyalty and the presidency
The conversation will explore the family dynamics that shaped Trump, his relationship with power, loyalty and opposition, and what his past reveals about how he governs today, both at home and in his relationships with America’s allies.
5. More 5×15 to come
5×15 also has events at The Tabernacle in Notting Hill on 23 November and the Emmanuel Centre on 30 November, plus our previously featured Danny Meyer talk in January.
