Music | London Troxy, Friday 29 January 2027
Electro-pop duo Sylvan Esso are back with Ow ∞, their first album in four years, and they’ve just announced a European tour including a headline show at London’s Troxy. Here are five things to know.
1. Their most collaborative album yet
Amelia Meath and Nick Sanborn worked with their biggest ever community of musicians, including six drummers and collaborators of Frank Ocean, Bon Iver, Charli XCX and Wilco. Most of the vocals are Meath’s first takes, giving the record a raw, immediate feel.
2. Made over four years
The 12 songs were created and reworked almost every day since 2022 at their studio in the woods of North Carolina. The New York Times named it one of the most anticipated releases of the autumn.
3. Apocalyptic, but a party
The album wrestles with a world of cities on fire and under water, but it’s also an ecstatic invitation to dance. The video for “Sledge”, written in the shadow of Hurricane Helene and the LA fires, captures that mix. Watch it below:
4. Released on their own label
It’s the first Sylvan Esso album on their own label, Psychic Hotline, giving them complete control. It’s out now on vinyl, CD, cassette and digital, with artwork by Eric Timothy Carlson.
5. See them at the Troxy
The London show is at the Troxy in Limehouse on Friday 29 January 2027, the night after Manchester’s Albert Hall. Tickets go on sale at 10am on Friday 16 October.
