5 Family Food Treats in London This October Half Term, From Villains Afternoon Tea to Kids Eat Free

London Family | October Half Term 2026

Half term is coming, and keeping the kids fed doesn’t have to break the bank. Here are five family-friendly food ideas in London, from a show-stopping afternoon tea to restaurants where kids eat free.

1. A Disney Villains afternoon tea

Park Corner Brasserie at London Hilton on Park Lane has unveiled Once Upon a Villain, a dramatic new chapter of its Disney Princess-inspired afternoon tea. It’s created by Head Pastry Chef Sam Leatherby, winner of Bake Off: The Professionals, with treats like the Enchanting Apple, Between Two Thorns and chocolate truffles in a glass slipper. It’s served daily from 12.30pm to 7pm, at £70 per adult and £45 per child.

2. A Secret Garden afternoon tea for children

Dalloway Terrace at The Bloomsbury has a children’s afternoon tea inspired by The Secret Garden, with a chocolate flower pot in a terracotta pot, a shortbread key and Mary’s Victoria sponge. Kids get an activity book on arrival. It’s £30 per child, daily from 12pm to 4pm, and just moments from the British Museum.

3. Kids eat free at Brindisa Tapas

From 19 to 30 October, Brindisa Tapas in Battersea and Richmond offers children a free meal, soft drink and ice cream with every paying adult ordering from the à la carte menu (maximum two children per adult). It runs Monday to Friday, 11am to 4.30pm, with activity sheets to keep little diners busy.

4. Kids eat free at Babur

South London favourite Babur in Forest Hill has a two-course set lunch for £26 from Monday 26 to Saturday 31 October, with one child aged 10 or under eating free with every paying adult. It’s a great chance to introduce the kids to some of London’s best Indian cooking.

5. Make a day of it

Pair lunch with a half-term outing. Brindisa Battersea is next to Battersea Power Station, Dalloway Terrace is a short walk from Covent Garden and the free Barbie in the Nutcracker pop-up, and Brindisa Richmond is close to Kew Gardens.
