5 Best Hotels in Blackpool for a Brilliant Seaside Break

Looking for the best hotels in Blackpool? From stylish accommodation beside Blackpool Pleasure Beach to a grand Victorian hotel on the promenade, there is far more choice than traditional seaside B&Bs. Here are five of the best Blackpool hotels to consider for a weekend break, family holiday or trip to the Illuminations.

1. Boulevard Hotel – best for luxury

If you want one of Blackpool’s smartest stays, Boulevard Hotel is difficult to beat. Set directly beside Pleasure Beach Resort, the modern seafront hotel has 120 rooms and suites, including family rooms, coastal suites and rooms overlooking the rides. There is also the Beachside Restaurant and a hotel gym.

Address: Ocean Boulevard, Blackpool FY4 1PL
Best for: Couples, luxury breaks and Pleasure Beach
Official website: Boulevard Hotel

2. The Big Blue Hotel – best for families

The Big Blue Hotel is another excellent choice if Pleasure Beach is the main reason for your visit. It has 157 bedrooms, with family rooms featuring children’s bunk beds as well as larger deluxe rooms and suites. Blackpool Pleasure Beach railway station is also directly opposite the hotel.

Address: Ocean Boulevard, Blackpool FY4 1ND
Best for: Families and theme park weekends

3. The Imperial Hotel – best for classic Blackpool character

For something with a little more history, The Imperial is one of Blackpool’s great seafront landmarks. The large Victorian hotel sits on North Promenade and offers the sort of traditional seaside-hotel atmosphere that feels particularly appropriate for a Blackpool break. It also runs a range of family and entertainment packages throughout the year.

Address: North Promenade, Blackpool FY1 2HB
Best for: History, traditional seaside atmosphere and promenade views

4. Hampton by Hilton Blackpool – best for an easy family stay

Hampton by Hilton Blackpool is a modern beachfront option on New South Promenade. Pleasure Beach and Sandcastle Waterpark are within easy reach, there is a tram stop outside and a hot breakfast is included for guests. Connecting rooms are also available, making this a particularly practical option for families.

Address: 595–601 New South Promenade, Blackpool FY4 1NG
Best for: Families, modern rooms and included breakfast
Official website: Hampton by Hilton Blackpool

5. Holiday Inn Blackpool by IHG – best for arriving by train

Holiday Inn Blackpool is one of the town’s newer modern hotel choices and has an exceptionally convenient location beside Blackpool North railway station. There is direct access to the Blackpool North tram stop from the hotel, making it easy to explore the promenade without the car. Families can also benefit from the hotel’s Kids Eat Free offer, subject to its terms.

Address: 85 Talbot Road, Blackpool FY1 1LL
Best for: Train travellers, town-centre stays and families
Official website: Holiday Inn Blackpool

For a more luxurious Blackpool weekend, Boulevard Hotel would be my first choice. Families visiting Pleasure Beach should also look closely at The Big Blue Hotel, while The Imperial is the one to choose if you want some traditional Blackpool history and character.
