Hercules at Theatre Royal Drury Lane: A Short 5 Thing Review

Disney’s Hercules is big, colourful and very easy to enjoy. It has plenty of familiar songs, comedy and spectacle, and works well as a fun West End night out.

1. The Muses are brilliant
They are one of the best parts of the show. Their singing, costumes and humour bring loads of energy every time they appear.

2. It looks fantastic
Theatre Royal Drury Lane is a great setting for a big Disney musical. The sets, lighting and costumes make the whole production feel impressive.

3. The songs are a real strength
Go the Distance is still the big one, but the gospel style numbers from the Muses are just as memorable.

4. It is very funny
Hades gets plenty of laughs and the show never takes itself too seriously. There is enough humour for adults while still feeling very family friendly.

5. It is a very enjoyable family night out
The story is simple and there are a few moments that could move along faster, but overall it is colourful, funny and full of energy.

Verdict: ★★★★☆
