5 Reasons to See I’m Every Woman: The Chaka Khan Musical in London 2026

The West End is set to groove as I’m Every Woman: The Chaka Khan Musical makes its world premiere at the Peacock Theatre from 5 – 28 March 2026. This brand-new production celebrates the life, music and power of one of the most iconic voices in soul and funk – the legendary Chaka Khan. Here are five reasons you won’t want to miss the Chaka Khan musical in London 2026.

1. Alexandra Burke Stars as Chaka Khan

Multi-platinum recording artist and West End favourite Alexandra Burke is stepping into the shoes of Chaka Khan in her most personal and powerful role yet. Burke, known for The Bodyguard, Sister Act and Chicago, first sang Chaka Khan during her The X Factor audition — a full-circle moment that now sees her lead I’m Every Woman: The Chaka Khan Musical.

“To think that all these years later I’ve been given the opportunity to play the superstar that is Chaka Khan in the West End would have been simply unimaginable for me back then,” says Burke. “This truly is a dream role for me.”

2. A Stellar Creative and Performing Team

The production is created by Adrian Grant Productions in association with Chaka Khan herself. The show features direction by Racky Plews, choreography by Ebony Clarke, and musical supervision by Mark Crossland. Joining Alexandra Burke are Jordan Frazier, Paige Peddie, Chanice Alexander-Burnett, and Duane-Lamonte O’Garro among many talented performers.

3. A Story of Strength, Struggle and Soul

I’m Every Woman goes beyond the hits to reveal the woman behind the voice. The musical explores Chaka Khan’s journey from her passion for civil rights and early fame with the band Rufus, to her battles with addiction and triumph as a working mother. It’s a story of resilience, self-belief and soul power — perfectly fitting for the Queen of Funk.

4. A Soundtrack Full of Iconic Chaka Khan Hits

Expect an unforgettable playlist of Chaka Khan’s greatest hits, including I’m Every Woman, Ain’t Nobody, I Feel For You, Tell Me Something Good, and Through the Fire. The show also celebrates her legendary collaborations with Prince, Stevie Wonder, and Joni Mitchell — making it a musical love letter to the golden age of soul and funk.
