Founded by former corporate lawyer Sonica Beckmann, House of Kind is one of the most exciting purpose-driven fashion brands emerging from the UK right now. Born out of frustration with boardroom culture and a desire to spark real connection between women, the brand has become a symbol of quiet strength, allyship and action—all stitched into every sleeve.

1. At 31, founder Sonica Beckmann walked away from a top legal role
Sonica was Head of Legal at a global retail group, navigating boardrooms at the highest level. But success felt isolating. Tired of being one of the few women in a room full of “pale, male and stale” faces, she left in 2023 to build something more meaningful.
2. House of Kind launched in November 2024 with purpose
Created as a quiet rebellion against the Old Boys’ Club, House of Kind was born to offer something different: connection, allyship, and subtle solidarity through fashion. Just days after launching, Sonica was named one of the UK’s 40 Under 40.
3. Every design is intentional and symbolic
House of Kind garments aren’t just stylish—they’re messages in fabric. Think buttons shaped like the scales of justice, stitched hearts on sleeves, and linings printed with the motto: Kindness is Our Superpower®. Each detail is crafted to help wearers spot their tribe in any room, from job interviews to global cities.
4. The brand acts on its values
When the US Supreme Court ruled against trans rights, House of Kind responded by featuring a trans model in its PB Pride Blazer campaign and donating 10% of profits to Stonewall UK. The brand also partners with charities like Dress for Success Greater London and Mission Wonder Women Foundation, reflecting Sonica’s own working-class roots.
5. It’s gaining momentum—and recognition
In just seven months, House of Kind is stocked on Wolf & Badger (online and in Soho), independent stores in Surrey, and is soon launching with Debenhams. The pieces have been worn by the likes of June Sarpong, Lorraine Kelly, Charlie Fischer and Paris Smith, and the brand was named Retail Partner of the Year by Dress for Success Greater London.
House of Kind isn’t just about clothes. It’s about building a kinder future—one outfit at a time. Learn more at houseofkind.london or follow on Instagram @houseofkind.london.
