Pause Café-Bar, located in the heart of Holborn at Uncommon, has teamed up with Aphra, an inclusive book club and shop, to create a monthly speaker series celebrating the stories of female chefs. The series launched in September with Kiano Moju, a Kenyan/Nigerian American food writer, and continues with exciting names from the culinary world. This collaboration shines a spotlight on the creative journeys of women who are shaping the future of food.

2. Upcoming Speakers: Manon Lagrève and Rosie Mackean
October and November are packed with exciting talks:

  • Manon Lagrève, a former Great British Bake-Off contestant, will take the stage on 24th October to talk about her French heritage and how it influences her cooking style. She’ll also be sharing tips from her new book, Chez Manon: Simple Recipes From A French Home Kitchen.
  • Rosie Mackean, an expert chef, food writer, and “Pasta Queen,” will appear on 21st November. Rosie will share her experience working in London’s food scene and tips from her book Good Time Cooking on how to host a dinner party with ease.
