Keith Jack, Mica Paris and Jorgie Porter to Star in Fame at the New Victoria Theatre, Woking
Keith Jack, Mica Paris, and Jorgie Porter are set to star in the upcoming 30th anniversary tour of Fame – The Musical, which plays at the New Victoria Theatre, Woking between Monday 1st – Saturday 6th October.
Based on the 1980 phenomenal pop culture film, Fame – The Musical is the international smash-hit sensation following the lives of students at New York’s High School For The Performing Arts as they navigate their way through the highs and lows, the romances, the heartbreaks and the ultimate elation of life. Bittersweet but uplifting, this show explores the issues that confront many young people today: prejudice, identity, pride, literacy, sexuality, substance abuse and perseverance.
Keith Jack, best-known as runner-up on BBC1’s Any Dream Will Do, will play Nick Piazza. His extensive theatre credits include the UK tour of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Only The Brave at the Edinburgh Festival and Sincerely Mr Toad. Keith says; “I am really looking forward to performing the role of Nick in the UK Tour of Fame”
Mica Paris, one of UK’s most respected female singers with top 10 single and album sales, takes the role of Miss Sherman. Mica has also appeared as a broadcaster and presenter on shows including BBC 1’s What Not To Wear, Gok Wan’s Miss Naked Beauty, and is a regular guest on ITV’s This Morning and Loose Women. Mica’s stage credits include Mama I Want To Sing, The Vagina Monologues, Love Me Tender, and Mama Morton in Chicago. Mica says; ‘The movie Fame was a big favourite of mine because it really was the first glimpse of what the beginning process of becoming a trained artist entailed – I’m so happy to be in the musical!’
Jorgie Porter, playing Iris Kelly, is best known for her role as Theresa McQueen in Hollyoaks. Her nominations include Best Serial Drama Performance at the National Television Awards and Best Newcomer at the British Soap Awards. Jorgie was also a runner-up on the seventh series of Dancing
