Christmas 2026 | 13 November 2026 – 10 January 2027
Underbelly Boulevard Soho is closing its doors, and it’s going out with a bang. Sophie’s Surprise Christmas Party, from the team behind an Offie-winning circus hit, will be the very last show ever performed at the venue. Here are five reasons to book.
1. You could become Sophie
Sophie has lost her Christmas spirit, and there’s only one way to get it back: throw her the most outrageous party imaginable. The twist is that every night, one lucky audience member is chosen to become Sophie, the unsuspecting guest of honour at the centre of the action. Everyone else becomes a party guest, so no two performances are ever the same.
2. Festive chaos, with Mariah and a stripping Scrooge
Expect the ghosts of Christmas Past, Present and Future, Mariah Carey thawed from her slumber, and a stripping Scrooge. It’s set to a euphoric throwback soundtrack, so this is very much a grown-up Christmas party rather than a family panto. Metro gave it five stars and called it award-winning circus at its very finest.
3. World-class circus up close
The cast has performed with Cirque du Soleil, The 7 Fingers and La Clique. Katharine Arnold worked on Tim Burton’s Dumbo, Isis Clegg-Vinell is a former Team GB gymnast and European acrobatic champion, and Nathan Price was associate circus director on The Greatest Showman stage musical. Comedy circus performer Sam Goodburn even holds three Guinness World Records for custard cream biscuit skills. Seeing aerial acts and acrobatics this close is something special.
4. A proven international hit
It follows Three Legged Race Productions’ Sophie’s Surprise 29th, which sold out at the Edinburgh Fringe, toured to Montreal and Vancouver, won the 2024 Offie for Best Production and the 2025 Seoul Arts Award. The festive version was a hit last year too.
5. The perfect office party alternative
Whether it’s an alternative work Christmas do or a big night out with friends, it’s a guaranteed laugh. If you want to keep going into the night, Sophie’s Lates is a fast-paced 70-minute version with selected shows at 9.30pm. And it’s your last chance to say goodbye to Underbelly Boulevard Soho.
