5 Reasons to Visit Handel Hendrix House as It Celebrates 25 Years in Mayfair

London | Anniversary concert Tuesday 10 November 2026

Where else could you find George Frideric Handel and Jimi Hendrix living next door to each other? Handel Hendrix House on Brook Street in Mayfair is celebrating 25 years since Handel’s home first opened to the public. Here are five reasons to visit.

1. A 25th anniversary concert

On Tuesday 10 November, The Brook Street Band and The London Handel Players join forces with mezzo-soprano Helen Charlston at St George’s Church, Hanover Square, where Handel worshipped. Tickets are £25, or £100 including a pre-concert reception at Handel’s home.

2. Ronnie Wood’s Hendrix portraits

Two new, unseen portraits of Jimi Hendrix in his Brook Street flat by Rolling Stone Ronnie Wood are on show until April, alongside the Hendrix in London exhibition, packed with previously unseen archive material.

3. Baroque & Roll weekends

Twice a month, hear Baroque music on historic instruments in Handel’s dining room, then blues and guitar in Jimi Hendrix’s bedroom. It’s included in general admission, on 14 and 15 and 28 and 29 November.

4. Learn Hendrix’s guitar tricks

On Guitar Saturdays, such as 7 November, resident guitarist Nigel Jones shares Hendrix’s legendary techniques. Bring your guitar or borrow one and jam where Jimi lived (£20 including admission).

5. Something for little ones too

Wigs & Wiggles concerts for under-5s bring Handel’s music to life with singing and dancing (15 November, £8 adults, £4 children). The new exhibition Hallelujah House runs until March.
