Wingstop UKI and football community Rising Ballers are bringing their Beyond The Wing tour to London, with a free grassroots football event at WestWay on Thursday 27 August. The London stop will combine football, food and music, with free Wingstop and co-branded footballs available for the local community.
1. The Wingstop truck is heading to WestWay
The final stop of the tour takes place at WestWay in London on Thursday 27 August. The idea is to bring Wingstop directly to the pitches and communities where young people already play football.
2. There will be free Wingstop food
Visitors will be able to pick up free food from the Wingstop truck during the event. Across the full Beyond The Wing tour, thousands of free meals are being handed out in London, Birmingham and Manchester.
3. Free footballs are being given away too
More than 600 Wingstop x Rising Ballers footballs are being distributed during the tour, with balls available at each stop. It is part of the campaign’s aim to make it a little easier for young people to get out and play.
4. DJ Emz will provide the soundtrack
The London event will have its own live music element, with local DJ Emz playing during the afternoon. Each city on the tour has a local DJ, helping to give the events more of a matchday atmosphere.
5. It is about more than promoting chicken wings
The partnership has been created around grassroots football and access to the game. Rising Ballers says parks, cages and local pitches are where many young people first fall in love with football, while Wingstop says it wants to support the communities already gathering in these spaces.
