EastEnders star and Strictly Come Dancing finalist Maisie Smith has released a brand new video and song recording of “Somewhere That’s Green,” offering fans their first proper look at her take on Audrey ahead of the major new revival of Little Shop of Horrors. The show opens at Hope Mill Theatre, Manchester, on Friday 25 September 2026 — and tickets are already flying. Here are five things you need to know.

2. The Video Was Shot and Recorded by a Serious Creative Team
This is far from a casual clip — it’s a fully produced piece of theatre content. The video features Christopher Dobson as puppeteer and Marcus Ayton as the voice of Audrey II, and was recorded at Noatune Studios with Ronan as engineer. Paul Schofield served as Musical Supervisor, while Adam Nightingale directed the video as videographer.
3. Manchester Tickets Are Already Sold Out — But Liverpool Is Next
Demand has been huge: over 30 performances at Hope Mill Theatre are already sold out ahead of opening night, making this one of the hottest theatre tickets in Manchester this autumn. Missed out? The production transfers to Liverpool Playhouse from 3 December 2026 to 9 January 2027, with Jessie Elland stepping into the role of Audrey for that run — so there’s still a way to catch the show live.
4. It’s Backed by an Award-Winning Creative Team and Cast
The revival is directed and choreographed by Tony and Olivier Award nominee Carrie-Anne Ingrouille, the choreographer behind the smash-hit musical SIX. Alongside Maisie Smith, the cast includes Michael Starke as Mr Mushnik, Jed Berry as Seymour, Marcus Ayton as the voice of Audrey II, and Benjamin Yates as sadistic dentist Orin Scrivello, with an ensemble featuring Kai Cameron-Jay, Ella Howlett, Rio Maye, Psalms-Nissi Myers-Reid, Joseph Peacock, Nathen Scott and Gabrielle Davina Smith.
Set and costume design comes from Morgan Large, and Audrey II is brought to life through four specially commissioned puppets by Robert Allsopp — the puppet designer behind Doctor Who, X-Men, The Witcher and the Tin Man in Wicked: For Good.
5. The Revival Marks the Musical’s 40th Anniversary
With music by Alan Menken and book and lyrics by Howard Ashman, Little Shop of Horrors follows shy flower shop assistant Seymour, whose discovery of a strange and unusual plant offers him a way out of Skid Row — until fame and fortune come at a terrifying price. This revival lands in the year marking the 40th anniversary of the 1986 film, making it essential viewing for longtime fans and newcomers discovering the show for the first time.
