If you’re looking for a magical festive experience in Mayfair this winter, the Handel Hendrix House is the perfect destination. Once home to Baroque composer George Frideric Handel and rock legend Jimi Hendrix, this unique museum at 25 Brook Street, Mayfair will be sparkling with Christmas cheer from Thursday 27 November 2025 to Sunday 4 January 2026.

Here are five festive reasons to visit this one-of-a-kind musical landmark.

1. The House Dressed for Christmas

The historic rooms where Handel and Hendrix once lived will be beautifully decorated for the season, featuring Christmas trees, twinkling lights, and decorations inspired by music and festive feasting. It’s a rare chance to step back in time and soak up the atmosphere of both the 18th century and the swinging 1960s.

2. Family Fun with the Festive Trail

From 27 November, families can enjoy a self-guided Festive Family Trail, uncovering the Christmas treats and favourite festive food and drink from both Handel’s and Hendrix’s eras. It’s the perfect way to learn about history while celebrating the season.

3. Guitar Saturday and the Brook Street Jam

On Saturday 6 December, the museum hosts its lively Guitar Saturday (£20 including admission). Visitors are invited to bring along their guitars for “The Guitar Day Christmas Bash”, led by specialist Nigel. Expect a deep dive into Hendrix’s blues style, interactive Q&A, and a jam session in the Brook Street studio.

4. Christmas Lates and Georgian Feasting

Enjoy late-night openings on Thursday 11 and 18 December, with entry available until 7pm — perfect for soaking up the festive atmosphere after dark.
Then, on 13 & 14 December, Handel’s kitchen comes alive with live cooking demonstrations. Food historians Marc Meltonville and Robert Hoare will recreate authentic 18th-century Christmas dishes, including the much-loved Georgian punch (£25 evening tickets / daytime included in admission).

5. Carols, Gifts, and a Warm Welcome

Round off the celebrations with joyful carolling on 21 & 22 December, filling the house with festive warmth. Before you leave, don’t miss the museum shop, featuring a charming collection of gifts for any music lover.

As Simon Daniels, Director of Handel Hendrix House, says:

“Just minutes from Oxford Street, Handel Hendrix House is the perfect place to take a break from the bustling streets and get back into the festive spirit.”
