STEP INSIDE THE FUTURE: BACK MARKET’S LAST SHOT GALLERY EXPOSES THE HIDDEN COST OF FAST TECH

This week, a brand-new immersive exhibition opens in London that’s set to make visitors rethink their relationship with technology. The Last Shot Gallery, launched by refurbished tech marketplace Back Market, invites visitors to explore the hidden impact of fast tech – an industry now generating more emissions than aviation – through powerful, reimagined iPhone-shot photography.

1. Discover the Environmental Cost of Fast Tech

The exhibition uses hyper-real digital art, iPhone-shot photography and data-driven storytelling to reimagine how some of the world’s most iconic landscapes could deteriorate under our current tech habits. It’s both unsettling and hopeful, inspiring visitors to think about repair, reuse, and sustainability.

2. Explore Ten Reimagined Global Landmarks

From the mighty Kilimanjaro to the River Seine, ten iconic world landmarks have been digitally transformed to show what could happen if our throwaway tech culture continues unchecked. The installations combine surreal creativity with sobering realism to highlight both the fragility and resilience of our planet.

3. Meet the Artists and Experts Behind the Vision

The exhibition showcases work from a new generation of up-and-coming digital artists. Adding scientific grounding, Professor Mark Maslin – an Earth System Science expert at UCL – provides the data-driven context behind each piece, showing just how real these potential futures could be.

4. Experience an Immersive and Interactive Exhibition

Opening on Friday 17 October 2025, from 1pm–5pm, the exhibition takes place at Gallery DIFFERENT, 14 Percy Street, Fitzrovia, London, W1T 1DR. Entry is free, but reservations are encouraged to guarantee a spot.
