Which Terminal Does British Airways Use at Gatwick?

If you’re flying with British Airways from London Gatwick, you’ll need to head to the South Terminal. This is the only terminal BA operates from at Gatwick, so there’s no need to worry about getting it wrong — just follow signs for South Terminal when you arrive.

Check-In for British Airways

British Airways check-in is located in Zone A of the South Terminal. There are plenty of self-service kiosks and staffed bag-drop counters to get you sorted quickly.

Standard check-in deadlines:

  • Long-haul flights: Check in at least 60 minutes before departure
  • Short-haul (Europe): Check in at least 45 minutes before departure

Don’t forget — security closes 30–35 minutes before departure, so give yourself extra time, especially during peak hours.

Getting Around the Terminal

Once through security, follow the signs to your departure gate — many British Airways flights depart from the GRP (Ground Pier) area. If you’re transferring from another airline in the North Terminal, you’ll need to take the free shuttle before security, as the terminals aren’t connected airside.

Final Tips

  • Arrive early for stress-free travel
  • Make use of the BA lounges if you have access
  • Double-check your gate on the departure boards

Safe travels from Gatwick’s South Terminal with British Airways!
