If you’re someone who gets goosebumps hearing the opening notes of The Lord of the Rings or can’t resist humming along to Game of Thrones, then this is one night you won’t want to miss. On Thursday 10 July at 8:00 PM, the beautiful St James’s Church in Piccadilly is hosting An Evening of Epic Film & TV Soundtracks – a live concert celebrating some of the most iconic music ever written for the screen.

1. A Setlist Packed with Fan Favourites
Expect an unforgettable programme filled with stirring themes from Avatar, Pirates of the Caribbean, How to Train Your Dragon, and more. These are the soundtracks that helped define the worlds we escaped into – and hearing them performed live in a candlelit church setting will only make them more powerful.
2. Two Brilliant Artists Take Centre Stage
At the heart of the performance are pianist Nurry Lee and violinist Yoonseo Oh. Nurry has performed across the world – from the UK to the USA and Asia – and recently made her Carnegie Hall debut after winning the Piano House International Piano Competition. Her playing is known for its emotion and clarity.
Yoonseo, meanwhile, brings a wealth of experience from the stage and the studio. She’s played for royalty at Buckingham Palace, appeared in major arenas like Resorts World Birmingham, and worked on film soundtracks, including the upcoming Nosferatu remake with Willem Dafoe. Together, they promise a rich and immersive musical experience.
3. A Venue Steeped in History
St James’s Church isn’t just a backdrop – it’s a key part of the evening. Designed by Sir Christopher Wren and completed in 1684, the church’s warm acoustics and elegant surroundings provide the perfect atmosphere for music that’s both grand and deeply emotional.
4. Familiar Music, Fresh Arrangements
Even if you know these themes inside out, you’ll be hearing them like never before. The concert features original new arrangements, created specifically for this event, which will bring out fresh textures and unexpected twists in the music.
5. A One-Off Night for Film and Music Lovers
This is more than just a concert – it’s a celebration of the power of music to move us, transport us, and stay with us long after the credits roll. Whether you’re a die-hard fan of these films or simply love great music in a stunning setting, this promises to be a magical evening.
