Three-time Grammy® winners Snarky Puppy bring their rip-roaring concert experience to the historic Royal Albert Hall on 14 November.

The ‘audacious, irrepressible creative energy’ (The Guardian) of Michael League’s, genre-defying collective, framed in the intimate Victorian venue, promise to make for a truly electric night.

The Hall’s jazz heritage stretches back to the late 1910s, with a diverse history of bands – from Duke Ellington and Count Basie to Kamasi Washington and Ezra Collective – as well as soloists the likes of Ella Fitzgerald and Frank Sinatra.

Lucy Noble, Artistic Director at the Royal Albert Hall, said: “We’re delighted to announce the Hall debut of one of the most innovative jazz groups of recent decades, the untouchable Snarky Puppy. Each of their shows brings its own line-up and sound, hopping genres and continents from jazz to funk and rock, which we can’t wait to see lifting the roof our iconic auditorium.”

Awards for the band have been plentiful in recent years, including three Grammys® and numerous poll placings. In 2017 alone, Snarky Puppy captured the “Jazz Group of the Year” title in the DownBeat Readers’ Poll and “Best Contemporary Group” in the JazzTimes Readers’ Poll. The collective has become an incubator for game-changing talent – nearly every member of Snarky Puppy is a band leader or solo artist, releasing albums and touring regularly.

The show on Thursday 14 November is a chance to catch what Rolling Stone has hailed as ‘one of the more versatile groups on the planet right now’. Put more simply by The New York Times – “maybe you didn’t notice, but this is Snarky Puppy’s world, and the rest of us only live in it.”

Tickets for Snarky Puppy at the Royal Albert Hall are on sale from 10am on Friday, with a Wednesday presale for the venue’s Friends & Patrons, priced £34 to £68.
