2. Book to see Evita at the New Victoria Theatre, Woking
Following its smash hit run at London’s Dominion Theatre, Bill Kenwright’s production of Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Evita is set to thrill audiences once again across the UK.
Telling the story of Eva Peron, wife of former Argentine dictator Juan Peron, Evita follows Eva’s journey from humble beginnings through to extraordinary wealth, power and iconic status which ultimately lead her to be heralded as the ‘spiritual leader of the nation’ by the Argentine people.
Featuring some of the most iconic songs in musical theatre, including Don’t Cry For Me Argentina, On This Night of a Thousand Stars and Another Suitcase in Another Hall.
Heard of Evita. Just never seen it. Just hasn’t seemed to tour the United States or even go back to Broadway for a long time it seems
Maybe one day. It’s quite old now
Have listened to “Don’t Cry For Me Argentina” before and do love that song. Just will be a long while it seems till there will even be a chance to see it live.
What is your favourite show?
Two-way tie between Les Mis and Wicked
Ok. It’s a shame there are not more new memorable shows
Well, there are. Wicked did come out in 2003. The stage show of Newsies came out in 2012. I am dying to see Frozen, which came out this year. So I am open to contemporary musicals.
Great. London seems to have Hamilton as a hit – not seen it.
I am talking about Broadway for the moment. After all, those are the shows I hear about first
Lovely to chat. Have a good evening
