5 Things to Know About John Cleese and The Holy Grail at London’s Gillian Lynne Theatre

London Comedy | Monday 14 December 2026

Gather your fellow knights and dust off your coconuts. John Cleese and The Holy Grail is coming to London’s Gillian Lynne Theatre for a one-off charity performance. Here are five things to know.

1. The full film on the big screen

The evening celebrates more than 50 years of Monty Python and the Holy Grail, with a full screening of the cult Arthurian comedy. Seeing the Knights Who Say Ni and the Black Knight with a packed theatre audience is a real treat.

2. John Cleese in person

The Monty Python legend introduces the film himself and then hosts a Q&A with the audience, sharing stories from his life, his career and the making of the film.

3. In aid of Tusk

This London performance is a charity event in aid of Tusk, the conservation charity that supports wildlife and communities across Africa, so your ticket supports a great cause.

4. A rare London date

The show toured the UK in September, including Woking and Watford, so this is a chance for anyone who missed it to catch it in the West End.

5. A great Christmas outing

Just before Christmas, it makes a brilliant night out for Python fans, or a memorable gift for one. The Gillian Lynne Theatre on Drury Lane was the long-time home of Cats, so it’s a fitting place for a slice of comedy history.
