Music and Family | UK arena tour, May 2027
As Blue Planet III arrives on BBC One this autumn, a spectacular live concert version has been announced. Blue Planet III Live in Concert will tour UK arenas next year. Here are five things to know.
1. Hans Zimmer’s score, played live
The series’ powerful new score, by Oscar winner Hans Zimmer with Thom Lukas and Laurentia Editha for Bleeding Fingers Music, will be performed live by the City of Prague Philharmonic Orchestra. Zimmer says there’s nothing like experiencing it live alongside the extraordinary footage of life underwater.
2. A screen the size of a tennis court
Specially curated footage from the series will be shown on a 200 square metre Ultra HD LED screen, one of the largest ever used for a touring orchestral show. It’s an immersive way to see the ocean’s wonders.
3. Stories from behind the camera
The show is hosted by the series’ Executive Producer, Elizabeth White, who has spent more than two decades at the BBC Natural History Unit. She’ll share the astonishing stories and filmmaking secrets behind what you’re seeing on screen.
4. Building on huge successes
It follows the hugely popular live concert versions of Blue Planet II, Planet Earth II and Planet Earth III, which brought the BBC’s wildlife filmmaking to arenas across the country. If you’ve been to one of those, you’ll know how special they are.
5. London date coming soon
The tour opens at Manchester’s AO Arena on 21 May, then Birmingham’s bp pulse LIVE on 22 May and Glasgow’s OVO Hydro on 23 May. The London date will be announced soon, with a waitlist open now. The presale starts on Wednesday 14 October at 10am, and general sale opens on Friday 16 October at 11am, with tickets from £40.
