Halloween 2026 | 24 October – 1 November
Want a Halloween half term that’s magical rather than scary? WWT London Wetland Centre in Barnes is inviting families to step into the SUPER Natural for one week only. Here are five reasons to go.
1. Scare-free fun for little ones
The events are designed for younger children, offering an accessible way to celebrate the season outdoors. Every child gets a free SUPER Natural logbook with challenges like autumn bingo and making a magical marshland potion.
2. Make a willow wand
Children can weave their own handmade willow wand, help create a magical fairy mushroom ring and make wondrous wetland creatures out of clay to take home.
3. Carve a pumpkin for the otters
One of the highlights is carving pumpkins to give to the Centre’s otters, a lovely way to get up close to wildlife and see them enjoy their seasonal treat.
4. Hunt for fungi and cryptids
Go on a self-led hunt for spotted tops, giant domes and other fungi, or join a cryptid hunt for mythical creatures that reveals the real-life superpowers of wetland wildlife.
5. Interactive theatre
On 24 and 31 October, Professor Prankster’s Magical Mistake brings an interactive theatre adventure to the wetlands. Book online to save 10% on entry.
