Christmas 2026 | 28 November – 23 December
Santa Claus is coming to Woolwich. Woolwich Works‘ much-loved Santa’s Grotto returns by popular demand, leading a packed festive programme for families at the historic Royal Arsenal. Here are five highlights.
1. Santa’s Grotto (28 November – 23 December)
Step into a magical winter wonderland with festive activities, treats for little ones, cheeky elves and, of course, the Big Man himself. There are sessions throughout the season, with tickets from £13.50.
2. The Magic Flute (5 December)
Resident company Luca Silvestrini’s Protein presents a family dance-theatre version of Mozart’s opera, following Papageno and Prince Tamino on a magical quest, with humour, storytelling and rearranged Mozart. It’s suggested for ages 7+, at 11.30am and 3pm, from £15.
3. The Elf Factory (13 December)
Hikapee’s playful show is set in a sherbet factory run by three eccentric elves, mixing science, circus, physical comedy and original music. It’s mostly non-verbal, so it’s ideal for all ages. Shows are at 1pm and 3pm, at £17.50.
4. Santa’s Silent Disco (19 December)
Grab some LED headphones and choose between festive floor-fillers, Disney favourites and family party tracks, with glow sticks, face-painting, treats and a visit from Santa. It runs from 4pm to 6pm, at £12.50, and pairs perfectly with a Grotto visit earlier in the day.
5. Baby Gospel Christmas and more
On 21 December, the CK Gospel Choir performs a baby-friendly 45-minute concert of carols, soul, gospel and Motown, perfect for ages 0 to 8. For older children, Mat Jones performs Dickens’ A Christmas Carol using the author’s own reading text (17 December, ages 12+), and there’s a free kids’ karaoke session on 18 December.
