5 Reasons to Visit St Katharine Docks This Half Term, Including a Floating Halloween Jazz Club

London Family | 24 – 31 October 2026

Tucked beside Tower Bridge, St Katharine Docks is one of London’s hidden gems, and this half term it’s getting into the autumn spirit. Here are five reasons to visit.

1. A free family weekend

On Saturday 24 and Sunday 25 October, from 10am to 5pm, the Coronarium becomes a hub of autumn creativity. All the activities are free, so it’s a lovely low-cost day out at the start of half term.

2. Make a wish on the Wishing Tree

Collect a leaf from around the docks, make a leaf rubbing with chunky oil pastels, write your wish on the back and hang it on the newly installed Wishing Tree, the centrepiece of the autumn installation.

3. Plant your own oak tree

Children can decorate a pot and plant an acorn to take home, then watch it, hopefully, grow into an oak tree. It’s a sweet keepsake and a nice way to teach kids about nature.

4. Pumpkin and maple drinks

A pop-up autumn coffee bar will be serving chai, maple and pumpkin flavours to keep everyone warm, and seasonal florals decorate the 23-acre marina.

5. A floating Halloween jazz club

For grown-ups, St Kat’s Sessions returns on Saturday 31 October, 6.30pm to 8.30pm, with a spooky edition on the floating pontoon. Expect candlelit tables, blankets, a complimentary glass of bubbles and live jazz from Olivia Swann and Jamie Safir. Fancy dress is encouraged, with a prize for the best costume. Tickets from £17.50.
