London Art | 6 – 25 October 2026
Not ready to say goodbye to summer? Step Into the French Riviera is a free immersive art experience bringing the sunshine of the Mediterranean to the streets of the West End. It’s created by Art of London with the Royal Academy of Arts and was unveiled by broadcaster Clara Amfo. Here are five reasons to visit.
1. Walk inside a masterpiece
At Piccadilly Circus, you can step into a larger-than-life interpretation of André Derain’s View of Collioure, brought to life with sun-warmed scents and the sounds of the French coast at dusk. It’s a quick, joyful burst of colour in the middle of town.
2. More installations on the way
Two more installations will pop up across the West End this month, inspired by Yves Klein’s famous International Klein Blue and Raoul Dufy’s Golfe Juan. Keep an eye out as you explore.
3. A playlist from Clara Amfo
Scan the QR code at each installation to unlock an exclusive French Riviera-inspired playlist curated by Clara Amfo, an Honorary Trustee of the Royal Academy. It’s the perfect soundtrack for a stroll through the West End.
4. A taste of the Royal Academy exhibition
The installations are inspired by works in the Royal Academy’s Painting the French Riviera exhibition, so it’s a great introduction before seeing the original paintings nearby on Piccadilly.
5. Riviera cocktails and dining offers
Participating West End businesses are offering Riviera-inspired cocktails, dining deals and Royal Academy exhibition packages, including Sofitel London St James, The May Fair and Archive & Myth. It’s free to visit and runs until 25 October.
