5 Reasons to Visit the Guildford Cathedral Christmas Fair 2026

Surrey Christmas | Friday 20 and Saturday 21 November 2026

Looking for Christmas gifts you won’t find on the high street? The Guildford Cathedral Christmas Fair returns on 20 and 21 November, bringing together more than 50 independent makers in one of Surrey’s most distinctive buildings. Here are five reasons to go.

1. More than 50 independent stalls

The fair brings together a carefully chosen mix of independent makers, artisans and specialist retailers. Browse art and crafts, home décor, independent fashion and jewellery, luxury food and drink, and plenty of distinctive Christmas gifts. It’s a great way to support small local businesses while you shop.

2. A stunning setting

Guildford Cathedral stands on Stag Hill and can be seen for miles around. Known as the “People’s Cathedral”, it was only completed thanks to thousands of members of the public buying bricks, including Queen Elizabeth II. Its light-filled interior makes a calm, memorable backdrop for a festive day out.

3. Free parking and easy entry

Unlike many Christmas markets, parking is free. Entry is just £3, either at the door or pre-booked online (plus a 35p booking fee), and booking ahead gets you fast-track entry through a dedicated VIP lane.

4. Coffee and cake in between

The Cathedral’s Seasons Café will be open throughout both days, so you can take a break for refreshments and make a relaxed day of it. The fair runs from 10am to 4pm on both days.

5. Bigger plans for 2027

Thanks to growing interest, the Cathedral is planning a much larger fair across two weekends in November 2027 (19 and 20, and 26 and 27 November), with many more traders. So this year is a chance to see the fair before it grows into a major Surrey Christmas destination.
