5 Reasons to Front a Rock Band at Sing Eat Retreat’s Main Stage, with Members of Thunder and Status Quo

Music Travel | Sitges, Spain, 3 – 10 April 2027

Ever sung your heart out in the car and wondered what it would feel like to do it with a real rock band behind you? Sing Eat Retreat has launched Main Stage, a seven-day retreat near Barcelona where rock fans of all abilities can step up to the mic and front a band made up of musicians from Thunder, Status Quo and Tyketto.

Here are five reasons it’s one for the bucket list.

1. Sing with a genuine all-star band

As the week builds, guests rehearse and perform with a live band featuring Thunder guitarist and songwriter Luke Morley, Status Quo drummer Leon Cave, Thunder and Tyketto bassist Chris Childs, Tyketto frontman Danny Vaughn and Guitar Heads keyboard player Nick Foley. These are musicians who have played major rock tours and festivals for decades, so it’s a rare chance to share a stage with the real thing.

2. No experience needed

You don’t need to be a trained singer. The retreat is designed for everyone from people who sing in bands or at open mic nights to those who have only ever sung along in the crowd, in the car or at home with the records on. What matters isn’t technical perfection but the thrill of performing live, whether you want to channel Robert Plant, Axl Rose or Roger Daltrey.

3. Expert coaching all week

Danny Vaughn, whose band Tyketto hit No.1 on the UK Rock and Metal Albums Chart this year, leads the vocal work alongside West End singer and vocal coach CJ Johnson and musical director Chris Childs. The programme covers vocal strength, phrasing, stamina, mic technique, stage presence and, crucially, how a singer works with a band.

4. A grand finale concert

The week ends with a full live-band concert on Main Stage’s own mini-festival stage. Guests work towards a structured set with chances to sing lead, join harmonies, add backing vocals and take part in big ensemble moments, putting everything they’ve learned into practice.

5. A villa near Barcelona

Between rehearsals, guests relax at Casa Felix, a private villa just outside Sitges surrounded by pine forests and countryside trails, with three pools and beautifully prepared shared meals. It’s around 30 minutes from Barcelona Airport, making it an easy trip from the UK. Bookings are open now.
