London Music | Saturday 25 September 2027
Just a day after we covered Zelda, another gaming legend is heading to Kensington. Distant Worlds: music from FINAL FANTASY – Eternal brings its 40th anniversary world tour to the Royal Albert Hall for two concerts on Saturday 25 September 2027. Here are five reasons to book.
1. Forty years of iconic music
FINAL FANTASY is one of the longest-running and best-loved role-playing game series of all time, selling more than 200 million copies worldwide. Its music has won The Game Awards’ Best Score and Music in 2020, 2023 and 2024, and this concert celebrates four decades of it.
2. The composer will be there
The series’ original composer, Nobuo Uematsu, will attend, a rare chance for fans to celebrate the music with the man who created so much of it.
3. A full orchestra and choir
The score is performed by the Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra and London Voices, conducted by Arnie Roth, with HD footage from four decades of the games projected on a big screen above the stage.
4. A long history at the Hall
FINAL FANTASY music has featured at the BBC Proms, and Distant Worlds has played the Hall in 2012, 2014, 2017 and 2019, plus a 35th anniversary concert in 2022. Fans know this venue does the music justice.
5. Two shows, from £30
There’s a 2.30pm matinee and a 7.30pm evening show, with tickets from £30. General sale opens at 10am on Tuesday 6 October, with Royal Albert Hall Friends and Patrons able to book 24 hours earlier. Expect them to go quickly.
