5 Things to Know as Faulty Towers The Dining Experience Celebrates 15 Years in the West End

London Theatre and Dining | 4,000th performance on 22 January 2027

Basil, Sybil and Manuel are still serving up chaos. Faulty Towers The Dining Experience, the world’s longest-running immersive dining show, is celebrating a triple milestone in 2027: 30 years worldwide, 15 years in the West End and its 4,000th London performance. All 2027 dates are on sale now.

Here are five things to know.

1. You’re a guest in the restaurant

This isn’t a show you watch from a seat. You become a diner in the “Faulty Towers” restaurant, and the fun starts as you wait to be seated. Over two hours of gags and shambolic service, Basil, Sybil and Manuel serve a 1970s-style three-course meal with a generous helping of mayhem. Because around 70% of the show is improvised, no two nights are ever the same, and you may well find yourself part of the action. It’s a loving tribute to the classic sitcom, though it isn’t endorsed by John Cleese or Connie Booth.

2. Three big milestones in one year

The show will play its 4,000th West End performance on 22 January 2027, then celebrate 15 years since its official West End opening on 26 October 2027. It all began in Brisbane in 1997, long before immersive theatre was a familiar idea, and producer Jared Harford says what began as a small idea has grown into something none of them could have imagined.

3. A global phenomenon

The production has played in 43 countries, more than any other Australian theatrical export, and welcomed millions of guests. It’s even taken a pop-up restaurant onto the London Underground and played a sold-out night at the Royal Albert Hall. Guests over the years have included Fawlty Towers actor Andrew Sachs, John McEnroe and Dame Kelly Holmes. Watch the trailer below:

4. A West End survivor

Its first West End residency began at the Charing Cross Hotel in 2012, playing 1,397 performances before moving to the Kingsway Hall Hotel. It lost 359 performances to Covid but was among the first West End shows to reopen in September 2021. Since 2022 it has been at home at the President Hotel in Bloomsbury, and it’s now the eighth longest-running production still playing in the West End.

5. Perfect for a birthday or Christmas treat

With dinner and a show all in one, it’s a brilliant choice for birthdays, office parties, hen and stag dos, or a gift for anyone who loves the original sitcom. If you’re travelling, the show also tours Scotland in spring 2027, visiting Aberdeen, Dundee, Glasgow and Edinburgh. Expect the unexpected!
