London Music | Saturday 3 and Sunday 4 April 2027
Calling all Hyrule heroes. The Legend of Zelda 40th Anniversary Concert is coming to the Royal Albert Hall next spring, with the music performed live by the London Symphony Orchestra. These are the only London dates on the world tour, and tickets went on sale today at midday.
Here are five reasons to book.
1. Forty years of legendary music
Since 1986, The Legend of Zelda has been one of Nintendo’s most enduring and influential series, and its music is a huge part of why. The concerts will feature a mix of nostalgic tunes and modern melodies from across the series, so whether you first picked up a controller in the 80s or discovered Zelda on the Switch, you’ll hear the themes that defined your adventures. Music is even woven into the gameplay itself, with players performing in-game instruments to solve puzzles and unlock secret areas.
2. Played by the London Symphony Orchestra
The LSO is one of the world’s great orchestras, and it has more than 30 years of experience recording and performing video game music. Hearing these much-loved melodies played by a full symphony orchestra brings out a richness and emotion you just can’t get through a TV speaker. The LSO’s managing director says the orchestra is honoured to be part of the anniversary celebrations.
3. The Royal Albert Hall becomes a mini-Hyrule
The Royal Albert Hall is the world’s most famous stage, and its vast circular auditorium is the perfect setting for music this epic. The Hall’s director of programming says he can’t wait to see the venue become “a mini-Hyrule” for a couple of days. It has become a home for video game concerts in recent years, hosting celebrations of Final Fantasy, Elden Ring, Metal Gear and World of Warcraft.
4. The only London dates on a world tour
The tour begins in Tokyo in January, heads across North America in February and finishes in Australia in May. The Royal Albert Hall shows kick off the European leg, which continues to Edinburgh, Glasgow and Stockholm. With only two London performances, these are likely to be in high demand among the huge fanbase, so it’s worth booking early.
5. A choice of evening or matinee
There’s an evening show at 7.30pm on Saturday 3 April and a 1pm matinee on Sunday 4 April, which makes it easy to plan a family outing or a weekend trip into London. Tickets start from £45. It would also make a brilliant Christmas present for the Zelda fan in your life.
