London Food & Drink | Tuesday 6 and Wednesday 7 October 2026
Cigalon, the Provençal restaurant on Chancery Lane from the team behind Club Gascon, is holding its monthly Test Drive next week. Over two evenings, diners can try head chef Julien’s new autumn menu before it goes on the main menu.
Here are five reasons to book.
1. Five courses for £43
The five-course preview costs just £43 per person. For £65 you can add four paired wines, including Reserve de Gassac Rosé, Roseblood Blanc, Gavi di Gavi and Les Vignes de Bila-Haut.
2. Deep autumn flavours
You start with pumpkin velouté with brown shrimps and capers. Next, choose between ravioles de Royans in caramelised onion broth or black pudding with apple tarte fine and chicory.
3. A choice of mains
Mains include a leek, pickled walnut and Gorgonzola risotto, seared trout with roasted cauliflower and hazelnut purée, or grilled leg of lamb with Coco de Paimpol beans and sage jus. A cheese course of St Nectaire follows.
4. Desserts worth saving room for
Finish with choux Chantilly with blackberry compote and blackberry and lavender sorbet, or a chocolate moelleux with fig leaf ice cream.
5. Be first to taste the new dishes
The Test Drive is a chance to try the new dishes before anyone else, in a beautiful dining room inspired by the south of France. If you enjoy it, Cigalon also hosts a Spanish wine dinner with Armit Wines on 20 October.
