South London six-piece Man/Woman/Chainsaw are having quite a year. Their debut album Cannonball is out now on Fiction Records, their entire autumn UK tour has sold out, and they’ve just announced their biggest headline show yet at The Forum, Kentish Town.
Here are five reasons they should be on your radar.
1. A debut the critics love
Cannonball picked up four-star reviews from NME, Mojo, The Times, DIY and The Skinny. NME even tipped it as a sure-fire Mercury Prize nominee for 2027. It also reached number 33 in the Official Albums Chart and the top 10 of the Independent, Vinyl and Physical charts.
2. They’re on a legendary label
Fiction Records is home to The Cure, St. Vincent and The Horrors. The album was recorded at RAK Studios with producers Seth Evans, known for his work with Geordie Greep and Black Midi, and Margo Broom, who has worked with Fat White Family.
3. Bangers and quieter moments
Drummer Lola Cherry says they set out to make a record of non-stop bangers, before realising the softer moments were just as important. The result mixes big choruses with violin, keys and unexpected twists. Start with “Only Girl”, “Nosedive” and “Get Up and Dance”, all playlisted by BBC 6 Music.
4. They started at 16
The band formed when they were just 16, writing songs in a converted vicarage. Since then they’ve sold out Scala, played SXSW in Texas and filled festival tents across the UK and Europe. Their first New York shows have sold out too.
5. The Forum is a big step up
With the autumn tour sold out, including the Electric Ballroom on 7 October, the Forum in May 2027 is your best chance to see them. It’s their biggest London headline show to date and the finale of a nine-date UK tour.
