More than 15 years after helping found one of Britain’s biggest boybands, Max George and Siva Kaneswaran are back on the road as The Wanted 2.0. Their ‘(We’re) Glad You Came’ Tour runs through October, with a London headline show at Scala on Tuesday 6 October.
Here are five reasons to get your tickets.
1. The hits, all night
This tour is all about the songs that defined the 2010s. Expect Number 1s “Glad You Came” and “All Time Low”, plus “Chasing The Sun”, “Walks Like Rihanna” and “Warzone”. If you were singing along back then, you’ll know every word.
2. Two original members leading the charge
Max and Siva were there at the start, and they now carry the torch for the band’s music. The Wanted sold more than 20 million records worldwide and scored ten UK Top Ten singles, and they still pull in close to 7 million monthly listeners on Spotify.
3. A pop party in an intimate venue
Scala, the King’s Cross cinema turned music venue, is a far cry from the arenas The Wanted once filled. That means you’ll be much closer to the stage for a proper sing-along.
4. A support act to watch
Supporting on most dates, including London, is Reigns, an Essex-born singer-songwriter with a contemporary blues-pop sound. Get there early to catch the set.
5. Plenty of other dates if London sells out
The tour runs from 1 to 22 October: Bath (1 Oct), Oxford (2 Oct), London (6 Oct), Brighton (8 Oct), Southampton (9 Oct), Sheffield (15 Oct), Manchester (16 Oct), Coventry (17 Oct) and Newcastle (22 Oct).
