Divorced, beheaded, worldwide! The global pop musical SIX has released its first Korean-language studio album, sung by six of the Queens from the original Korean production. It is available now on all major streaming and download platforms.
Here are five things to know.
1. It stars the original Korean Queens
The album features Sonnet Son, Jiwoo Kim, Hyena Park, Hyunsun Choi, Ryeowon Kim and Juhye Yoo, who led SIX’s first Korean production in 2023. That production was the show’s first in Asia and its first official production in a language other than English.
2. It is made as a proper pop album
Recorded in the studio and produced as a pop record, it brings powerhouse vocals and tight harmonies, with a Korean translation that keeps all the wit and sass of the original. It is produced by a team including SIX creators Toby Marlow and Lucy Moss.
3. SIX is going global in many languages
The Korean album follows SIX’s first official Spanish-language recording earlier this year, ahead of its Madrid premiere at the Teatro Gran Vía. This year also sees SIX return to Australia and begin a 12-week engagement in China from October, with the Grand Théâtre de Luxembourg to follow in May 2027.
4. A British success story with billions of streams
SIX began as a student show at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in 2017 and now plays around the world. Its music has been listened to more than 5.5 billion times, the UK studio cast recording has gone Platinum, and the show has won more than 35 major awards, including two Tony Awards.
5. You can still catch SIX in the West End
Can’t get to Seoul, where a second Korean season runs from 15 December 2026 to 1 March 2027? The London production has extended at the Vaudeville Theatre until November 2027, so there is plenty of time to see the Queens take the stage on the Strand.
