If you’re looking for something to lift the gloom of January, this could be it. Cirque du Soleil is bringing KURIOS – Cabinet of Curiosities to the Royal Albert Hall for a limited seven-week run from 13 January to 28 February 2027.
The steampunk show is a celebration of imagination and invention, following a genius inventor who unlocks a hidden world where his makeshift creations spring to life. Tickets and hospitality packages went on sale on 25 September. Here are five reasons to book.
1. It’s Cirque du Soleil’s biggest Royal Albert Hall hit
Cirque du Soleil and the Royal Albert Hall go back a long way, and KURIOS is the most successful production the company has ever staged there. This run also marks a milestone: 30 years of Cirque du Soleil performing at the historic venue.
Seeing a show of this scale under the Hall’s famous dome is an experience in itself.
2. The run won’t be extended
The organisers have been clear that this is a non-extendable seven-week run. Once it closes on 28 February, that’s it. With a show this popular, the best seats and weekend dates are likely to go first, so it’s worth booking early if you have a particular date in mind.
3. A steampunk world of wonders
KURIOS is set in an alternative yet familiar past, inside the mechanical lab of an inventor who is convinced there’s a hidden, invisible universe where the craziest ideas and grandest dreams are waiting.
When he finally unlocks the door, time stops completely. A cast of colourful characters invades his curio cabinet and brings his makeshift creations to life. As the story unfolds, both the inventor and the audience discover that anything is possible when you trust your imagination.
4. Gravity-defying acrobatics
KURIOS premiered in Montreal in 2014. Since then it has been seen by more than 7 million people in 50 cities, across more than 3,500 performances.
The show has a cast of 50 world-class artists, and like all Cirque du Soleil productions it’s built around jaw-dropping, gravity-defying acrobatics and extraordinary displays of human skill. It’s a show that works for all ages, making it a good pick for a family treat as well as a night out.
