Harry Potter World London: Five Things to Know Before You Visit

Often searched for as Harry Potter World London, the attraction is officially called Warner Bros. Studio Tour London – The Making of Harry Potter. It offers a behind-the-scenes journey through the original sets, costumes and special effects used in the films.

1. It Is Not a Theme Park

There are no rollercoasters. The magic comes from walking through genuine film sets, including the Great Hall, Diagon Alley, Gringotts Wizarding Bank, the Forbidden Forest and Platform 9¾.

2. The Small Details Are the Best Part

Look beyond the main sets and you will discover handwritten labels, moving portraits, intricate shop windows and thousands of props created for the films. It feels more like entering a working film studio than visiting a conventional attraction.

3. You Should Allow Half a Day

The average visit lasts around three and a half hours, although there is no fixed limit once inside. Leave extra time for photographs, the shops, food and a glass of Butterbeer.

4. Hogwarts Changes Throughout the Year

Seasonal events give repeat visitors something new to see. The 2026 programme includes First Year at Hogwarts, Dark Arts and Hogwarts in the Snow, when the sets receive their festive transformation.

5. It Is in Leavesden, Not Central London

The Studio Tour is near Watford. Trains from London Euston can reach Watford Junction in around 20 minutes, followed by a 15-minute electric shuttle bus included with admission. Free parking is also available.
