The Coronation Street Tour in Manchester takes visitors behind the scenes of the real ITV filming location. From the Rovers Return to Roy’s Rolls, here are five things to know before visiting Weatherfield.

The famous cobbles, terraced houses, shops and Rovers Return exterior are all used for filming. Guided tours usually take place at weekends and on selected bank holidays, when cast and crew are away.

The 90-minute tour reveals how camera angles, false fronts and carefully designed spaces create Weatherfield on television. Guides also share stories about filming and memorable characters.
3. There Is More Than the Outdoor Set
Admission includes the Coronation Street Exhibition, cinema and replica interiors of Roy’s Rolls and the Rovers Return. Look out for original costumes, props and Deirdre Barlow’s unmistakable glasses.
4. A Star Tour Includes a Mystery Guest
The Coronation Street Star Tour includes the full guided experience followed by a meeting and photograph with a surprise cast member. The identity remains secret until the day.
5. Allow Longer Than 90 Minutes
The guided walk lasts around 90 minutes, but visitors should allow up to two and a half hours for the complete experience. Much of the tour is outside, so comfortable shoes and Manchester-weather clothing are sensible.
