September at G Live Guildford is packed, with everything from 90s dance anthems and comedy to live music, history and family friendly cinema. Here are five events that stand out.
1. Dance back to the 90s with Vernon Kay
On 4 September, BBC Radio 2’s Dance Sound of the 90s comes to G Live with Vernon Kay. Expect a big nostalgic night celebrating the tracks that filled clubs and dancefloors throughout the decade. Tickets start from £27.50.
2. Spend an evening with Lucy Worsley
Historian and broadcaster Lucy Worsley brings My Royal Life to Guildford on 7 September. If you enjoy royal stories, British history and Worsley’s entertaining style, this should be one of the month’s highlights. Tickets start from £48.
3. Hear Queen songs by candlelight
On 9 September, Queen by Candlelight brings some of the band’s best known songs to the Main Auditorium in a rather different setting. Tickets start from £26.50.
4. See Monty Python legend Eric Idle live
Eric Idle arrives on 19 September with Idle in Provence. It is a rare chance to see one of Britain’s best known comedy performers on stage in Guildford. Tickets start from £55.75.
5. Finish the month with a huge Elton John tribute
On 30 September, Captain Fantastic & The Rocket Man brings the music of Elton John to G Live, making it a suitably big finish to the month. Tickets start from £45.25.
