Things to Do in Aylesbury This August: 5 Reasons to Book a Night at the Waterside Theatre

Looking for something different to do in Aylesbury this August? Aylesbury Waterside Theatre is hosting a major new live production for just three nights, with dancing, acrobatics, cocktails and an international cast taking over the theatre from 27 to 29 August 2026.

Channing Tatum’s Magic Mike Live is bringing its new international touring production to Buckinghamshire before it heads out around the world, making Aylesbury the first place audiences can see this version of the show.

Here are five reasons it could be one of the more unusual Aylesbury nights out this summer.

1. Aylesbury gets it before anywhere else

This isn’t simply the London production being packed onto a lorry and taken around the country.

Aylesbury audiences will be the first in the world to see the new international touring version, complete with new routines, new costumes and a redesigned performance space.

It’s a surprisingly big coup for a Buckinghamshire theatre and a good excuse to make a night of it if you’re looking for something beyond the usual dinner and drinks.

2. The theatre itself becomes part of the show

One of the interesting things about this production is what they’re doing with the Waterside Theatre.

The show will use the stalls and circle as well as new on-stage seating, designed to bring some audience members right into the middle of the action.

Magic Mike Live is built as an immersive 360-degree show rather than a traditional stage performance, combining dance, acrobatics, comedy and large-scale production.

3. It’s an easy girls’ night out idea

If you’re searching for a girls’ night out in Buckinghamshire, this one pretty much plans itself.

The performance lasts around 90 minutes, and there’s even a cocktail service being introduced inside the auditorium so guests don’t have to disappear to the bar halfway through the show.
There will also be a limited number of VIP Meet & Greet upgrades, giving guests the opportunity to meet members of the cast after selected performances.

4. It’s bringing a huge international cast to Buckinghamshire

The touring production features the largest Magic Mike Live company assembled for a single production.

Performers are coming from the UK as well as Germany, Switzerland, New Zealand, Italy, Australia, South Africa, Colombia and the United States.

Kalon Badenhorst leads the company as Mike, with Julie Yammanee appearing as the show’s MC, alongside a cast of more than 20 performers.

5. You’ve only got three days to catch it

This is the important bit if you’re planning things to do in Aylesbury at the end of August.

There are only six performances, running from Thursday 27 to Saturday 29 August 2026. The engagement is effectively a preview of the production before its international tour.

And don’t accidentally book it as a family theatre trip: Magic Mike Live is strictly 18+.
