Meet the Penguins

Penguin Island houses the larger Humboldt penguins, native to the coasts of Chile and Peru. This area has become central to Birdworld’s breeding programme, with over 300 chicks successfully raised for conservation and educational efforts around the world.

At Penguin Beach, you’ll find a smaller group of critically endangered African penguins. Their custom-designed habitat mimics a South African coastal island, offering a window into their social lives and daily habits.

Daily Feeding Times

Don’t miss the daily penguin feeding sessions:

Penguin Feeding Experience

Want to get even closer? Birdworld offers a Penguin Feeding Experience for guests aged 7 and up. You’ll join the keepers, hand-feed the penguins, and learn more about how they are cared for. Park admission and a souvenir are included.
