5 Reasons to See Clueless: The Musical in the West End

If you thought Clueless was just a cult 90s film, think again. This year, it’s been totally reinvented for the West End stage—and it’s an absolute vibe. Now extended until 28 March 2026 at the Trafalgar Theatre, Clueless: The Musical is winning over London one “as if!” at a time. Here’s why you need to grab your besties and go.

1. It’s Like, Totally Irresistible

Critics are loving it. From being hailed as “big-hearted, bangin’ and flawless” (Daily Mail) to “fun and totally fabulous” (Independent), this show has quickly become London’s latest must-see. Expect non-stop laughs, big energy, and a whole lot of heart.

2. A Dream Team Behind the Scenes

The musical comes from none other than Amy Heckerling, who wrote and directed the original film. Add music by KT Tunstall (“Suddenly I See”) and lyrics by Grammy-winner Glenn Slater, and you’ve got theatre gold. It’s directed by Rachel Kavanaugh and choreographed by Lizzi Gee—a powerhouse creative team delivering a slick, high-energy production.

3. The Cast Slays

Emma Flynn stars as Cher Horowitz with what the Sunday Mirror calls “an effervescent explosion of megawatt charm and killer vocals.” She’s joined by a fabulous cast including Keelan McAuley (Josh), Chyna-Rose Frederick (Dionne), and Romona Lewis-Malley (Tai). Together, they bring the 90s Beverly Hills scene to life with style, sass, and plenty of sparkle.

4. A Clever Nod to Jane Austen

While the fashion and slang scream 1990s, the heart of the story is a reimagining of Jane Austen’s Emma. If you love a good literary twist, you’ll appreciate the layered storytelling underneath the pop culture nostalgia.

5. It’s a Much-Needed Dose of LA Sunshine

Let’s face it—London weather isn’t always the friendliest. Clueless: The Musical brings sunshine, colour, and pure escapism to the stage. It’s uplifting, feel-good theatre that’ll have you smiling long after curtain call.
