In the film, Dhamala plays a battle-hardened soldier who returns home from Afghanistan to the devastating news of his wife Maya’s sudden death and is blindsided by a shocking discovery that threatens to unravel everything he thought he knew.

We caught up with Tank for a chat:
Can you tell us a little about your journey as an actor?
I have always wanted to work in film and television, just like many others. After completing screen and stage acting training, I secured an agent and landed roles in commercials and filmsโthough it took hundreds of rejections through auditions. The journey has been tough, but Iโve learned from every experience and am truly enjoying my acting career.
What was your reaction when you found out you had landed this role?
I was over the moonโexcited and nervous at the same timeโas I had to play the leading role, embody the character fully, and do justice to it.
How did you prepare for playing such an intense character?
I spent a lot of time repeatedly reading the script and working on the character’s psychology and motivationsโboth as a whole and for each scene.
Were there any actors or performances that inspired you while developing
this role?
Not from any specific actor’s performance, but I’m sure I may have taken inspiration from many films and performances.
How has this role changed or influenced your approach to acting?
Understanding a character’s backstory and the roots behind the scenes, as well as understanding the flow of events, really helps enhance the performance.
What kind of roles or genres are you excited to explore next?
Any well-written role excites me!
