5 Things to Know About London Wetland Centre’s New Wellbeing Workshops

1. Monthly Workshops Running Throughout 2025

London Wetland Centre has launched Wetland Wellbeing Workshops, a new programme designed to help adults learn new skills while immersing themselves in nature. These workshops will take place every month in 2025, offering a range of hands-on activities from fire-making and shelter-building to watercolour painting and foraging.

2. A Chance to Reconnect with Nature

Spending time in nature is proven to boost mental health and well-being. Ruth Thomas, Experience and Engagement Manager at London Wetland Centre, highlights that just 10 minutes in a wetland setting can lift your mood. The workshops provide an opportunity to step away from technology and enjoy a mindful escape in a beautiful natural environment.

3. First Three Workshops Have Already Sold Out

The early response to the new programme has been overwhelmingly positive, with the first three workshops selling out well in advance. This strong demand reflects the growing interest in nature-based activities that promote relaxation and self-care.

4. Upcoming Foraging Workshop on 26 April

The next available workshop on 26 April will focus on foraging. Participants will learn how to identify and cook with edible plants such as nettles, followed by a tasting session featuring nettle soup, nettle crisps, and nettle tea, all prepared over an open fire.

5. Affordable and Inclusive Experience

Tickets for each workshop cost just £5 and include full access to the 105-acre nature reserve. This provides a rare chance to explore unique wetland habitats and spot wildlife not found anywhere else in London. The centre is fully accessible, with flat pathways and a welcoming atmosphere for all visitors.
