We caught up with Sou for a chat…

We understand you first became involved with Young Voices in 2018 via your school choir, how does it feel to join Young Voices as a guest artist on huge arena stages in 2025?

It’s crazy to think that I get to be on stage performing seven years later, and it’s incredible to sing with so many children every day, all with the same passion for sharing the love of music!

You have been singing since a very young age, do you remember the first song you sang and your first ever live performance?

I don’t really remember the first song I sang, but I was in love with the movie Frozen, and one of the first songs I was interested in was Let It Go and I was also a fan of the song “Set Fire To the Rain” by Adele. My first live performance was at my primary school talent show when I was six years old and the song I sang was “Let It Go”.

Do you come from a musical family?

My parents are not professional in music, but both have always been interested in music and they’ve also always listened to a wide variety of songs and different music genres.

Which music artists inspire you?

So many, but to name a few, Adele, Whitney Houston, Christina Aguilera, Cilla Black and Mariah Carey.

Did your Britain’s Got Talent performances at such a young age help prepare you for big live performances, and do you ever get nervous?

Yes of course, Britain’s Got Talent was such a big platform especially for me at such a young age and it definitely helped as it was a challenge and that it helped me prepare for big live performances and gain more confidence.

What is coming next for you, after the Young Voices tour?

I am at the Brit School doing GCSE music strand so I am currently busy with school. I am planning to release singles later this year and more live performances are also in my plans for this year.
