In a spectacular announcement that has set the cinematic world abuzz, the 68th BFI London Film Festival, in partnership with American Express, is rolling out the red carpet for the European premiere of Elton John: Never Too Late. The highly anticipated documentary, directed by R.J. Cutler and David Furnish, will take centre stage as the American Express Gala on Thursday, 10th October, at the iconic Southbank Centre’s Royal Festival Hall. The evening promises to be a star-studded affair, with none other than Elton John himself gracing the event alongside the directors.

The documentary, a heartfelt and deeply personal journey, offers an intimate glimpse into Elton John’s remarkable life and career. As the legendary musician prepares for his final North American concert at Dodger Stadium, the film takes audiences back to his early days, exploring the extraordinary highs and devastating lows that have shaped him into the global icon he is today. With emotional depth and unflinching honesty, Never Too Late reveals how Elton overcame adversity, abuse, and addiction to leave an indelible mark on the music world.

Produced by Rocket Entertainment and This Machine Filmworks, the documentary is a Disney Branded Television original, boasting an impressive production team that includes Cutler and Furnish, alongside executive producers such as Elise Pearlstein and John Battsek. The full festival programme will be unveiled on 4th September 2024, with tickets available to the public from 17th September.
